In India, registration is required for all motor vehicles. If you are caught driving on the road without a legal driver’s licence, you will face imprisonment, a fine, or both.
In addition, parents of minors detected driving without a valid learner’s permit will be harshly penalized for allowing their child to use their vehicle. The registration certificate for a vehicle is good for 15 years after it is issued, and it can be renewed for another 5 years.
If you are the owner of a motor vehicle, you must understand the significance of the RC card/book. The Indian government has made it mandatory to carry a copy of your RC card or book when driving. A copy of your registration certificate can now be obtained in the form of a smart card.
